Who I am
I would like to introduce myself. I’m Jeffrey. The really handsome devil is Steven, my bestest buddy.
After a pretty big life event, there was a huge shift in my soul, it was exit or embrace. So I made a much-needed change. I moved from San Diego to this small, beautiful mountain town of Idyllwild, CA. The healing journey I have embarked on has proven to be more impactful than I realized I needed. I purchased a new home and have settled into this new chapter with an optimistic outlook on life, a second chance if you will. After owning a successful shop in the city for 21 years, I thought my days of sole proprietorship were over, enter Artifacts.
The community I have been blessed to find has nurtured my artistic oddness and allowed me to share my unique perspective through the many mediums I love to create with. So opening a tiny shop filled with my personality seemed the most natural approach to what was next for me. However, there was one thing missing. Pottery.
My fascination with the transformative magic of clay began as a self-discovery endeavor during Covid lockdowns. With no formal training, I embarked on a hands-on exploration of the world of pottery, finding my true passion in the art of hand-building. There's a special kind of alchemy that happens when your hands intimately engage with the clay, guiding it into forms that breathe life into your imagination. The next step was to create a space that embraced both my tiny shop of curious gifts, and a pottery studio that I could work in as well, @artifactspottery is just that and more.
An intimate pottery studio offering workspace for those familiar with studio workings, whether local or part timers, and “Get Muddy” workshops that are beginner friendly! I invite you to join me on this journey, let’s get our hands dirty and create something magical.
I am grateful to all of you who have welcomed me.
Welcome to my new life. Chapter one.
